July
Where did July come from? When you work for yourself everyday can be completely different as you just never know who is going to call or email you with new work or to postpone work or to change work. This week feels like it's a tad busy with many little updates and amends, several websites to finish, a couple of new enquires, one on hold and a few logo's out of the blue. Meanwhile my current clients continue to contact me and I it's a case of keeping all those balls in the air at the same time. Being calm...
Things are changing
I can feel life starting to pick up a bit, especially for my kids. My son is spending a week with a company deciding if he wants to join them on an apprenticeship and his rugby training has started up again... although no contact. I've just dropped my daughter off at the park to meet a few friends, I'm so happy for her to get out a bit, be with friends to chat like teenagers do. I've got on fine with my morning but now waiting for various people to get back to me, hence time to write my blog. Several...
Time, being helpful, offering advice - but don't be a fool
I didn't need to read loads of books by famous people in business to be told how to treat people, I've always done the odd job either for free or in return for something else or trade or even just because I knew the person needed my help and if they didn't get that help they couldn't move on and seize an opportunity. Grated cheese
That's what I've dropped on my desk and on the floor! I really shouldn't eat my lunch at my desk. It's quietly peaceful today, getting on with a current Shopify site which will hopefully go live early next week, quoting on a second one for a Leicestershire based engineering firm and designing a range of possible social media posts for another client. My daughter has got to grips with her new learning book from school and I'm pleased her online classes now last till 1/2pm and not just the 2 hours of work she was doing. My son is having...
Groundhog day
It is starting to feel a bit like groundhog day. It has taken me several months so I guess I'm lagging behind the majority of the population. But now I do feel a sense of 'being stuck at home' working everyday with the relentless cooking, cleaning and picking up coupled with the thought of not going anywhere. My work has kept me occupied and the work we are doing in our garden has given the family a project to focus on, but I now feel after all these weeks, finally its starting to get to me a bit. My dog walks...
